Sorry for not combining two answers. But, popcheck also appears to serve
your purpose.

  brahman:~$ dpkg -s popcheck
  Package: popcheck
  Status: install ok installed
  Priority: optional
  Section: net
  Installed-Size: 40
  Maintainer: Alexander Neumann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  Version: 1.3-2
  Depends: libc6 (>= 2.2.4-4), libncurses5 (>= 5.2.20020112a-1)
  Description: Small tool to view and delete messages on a pop3-server.
   Using this tool one can view sender, subject and size of messages
   and delete messages from a pop3-server without downloading them.
   .
   It has nearly the same functionality as pop3browser, but with a
   ncurses gui.

Regards,
