Finally got bitten by the auto-spell-check feature which I've become so used to in openoffice and staroffice, so looked around for a similar feature in Xemacs. Was planning to hit Google, thought, let's check the builtin documentation first. Lo and behold, someone has already thought of it and implemented it as a front-end to Ispell. Pretty well, too.
So now I have flyspell-mode running in my text and mail buffers, flagging spelling errors as I type them. Flyspell offers automatic flagging of typos, auto-correction, correction by selection from a list of options, adding a word to your dictionary, ignoring a word for the current document (buffer) and ignoring a word for all documents edited in the current [X]Emacs session. Any typos henceforth in my messages are solely the responsibility of the little gremlins who inhabit my non-working floppy drive. Strongly recommend to all [X]Emacs users who prefer to have a minimal level of quality associated with the documents they generate. Now all I need is a local thesaurus and the corresponding [X]Emacs interface and I'll die a happy man.
