Hi All! I have a celeron machine running RedHat-7.1 (PCQ) with the Motorola SM56 softmodem. I have the driver installed. WVDIAL cannot find the device (/dev/modem -> /dev/sm56) automatically. However it does dial with device set to /dev/dm56 or /dev/modem. But never connects as it after dialing it never finds an OK. The questions that puzzles me
1. Is it something to do with the initialiaztion string? 2. I am using only ATZ. What is the correct initialization sequence? 3. Should I use stupid mode? 4. How to use setserial so as to make wvdial detect the modem automatically?
