Which version of XFree are you using? I didnt have to do anything special to get it going with 4.x series.
However, Cannot locate module "i810" shows that the module was not compiled - i used the bf24 image to get the 2.4 kernel - maybe you are using the 2.2 series - anyway, the best way is to recompile from sources.
