There's a few more arguments for open source drivers (other than that a fat,
stinky guy with a beard and a bad haircut says so).
Stuff like what happens when you are bound to a particular kernel version
and the developer of that closed source driver becomes uninterested in
maintaining / releasing any further linux drivers for his product.
