I have a server with three scsi hard disk. I created a raid 5 array on three (sda3,sdb3,sdc3)partitions (15 GB each) of all the three partitions. The resultant /dev/md0 (around 30 GB) made root file system. The server boots up perfectly with root=/dev/md0 The problem is, 1. When first hard disk sda is removed, the booting fails (lilo screen does not appear). I have installed lilo on all hard disk with lilo -v -b /dev/sda, sdb and sdc, Any idea what is wrong? 2. When second hard disk is removed it works ok. 3. When third hard disk is removed, the array creation fails, and kernel panics due to non availability of root files system, Any idea what could be wrong?
