I would like to ask a favour of you all. Could anyone running a linux box with a external modem (D-Link DFM-560ES preferably), and are able to use the modem properly and connect to the net using the same, please mail me their 'hwconf' file which can be found on '/etc/sysconfig/' directory (for the uninitiated).
