I don't know the correct module for DLINK 538TX NIC , but since
you said it worked with 8139too in RHL.
In my debian potato machine I use rtl8139.o module for realtek chipsets.
Pls check with your vendor about the chipset.
For loading the module at boot do this (refer www.kumarayil.net/howtos.htm)
edit /etc/modules.conf and add
alias eth0 <modules-name>
