Putty by itself cannot do this. Putty is an ssh client, not an X server. You need an X server that runs on your Windows system - Xwin32, Exceed etc. are some options that you have. Once you have one of these installed, putty can do it. In putty configuration for a remote computer, enable the checkbox "Enable X11 Forwarding" in Configuration->SSH->Tunnels. The default setting for DISPLAY is OK. Note that your ssh server should also support X11 forwarding. For OpenSSH, its X11Forwarding yes in sshd_config (Certain distros ship with this turned off by default, I think). Binand PS: Putty is almost as versatile as the openssh ssh client. I am experimenting with its batch mode features currently. Have managed to run CVS over SSH using WinCVS and putty so far. :) -- If you found this helpful, please take some time off to rate it: http://svcs.affero.net/rm.php?r=binand ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
