Hi

I don't have any problem with this but I wonder if any
of you guys ever encountered a problem like this. I
have a multi-boot system between win98, win2k and
linux.

Now I installed win98 first(c), then created 2 fat32
partitions(d,e). After that I installed win2k on a
NTFS partition(f). Ok now I created a 4th fat32
partition after the NTFS partition (f in win98; g in
win2k). And finally I installed Linux-Mandrake 7.1.

Now the problem is that after installing Linux I could
not see the 4th fat32 partition in win98, although I
could access it in win2k. This problem went ballistic
when I accessed certain files on drive e (3rd fat32
partition) through linux. The system got stuck. On
returning to win98 and running scandisk; it reported
that the fat table of the drive was corrupted and I
ended up losing a lot of data. This corruption
happened twice.

I managed to fix the problem by running Partition
Magic from windows. And now I can access the missing
fat32 partition from win98.

I want to know why this might be happening and is
there a free alternative to the problem. Partition
Magic is not free software.

Shi
