No, migrating from ext2 to ext3 need not entail *any* loss of data. All you need is to do a tune2fs -j /dev/hdX and you are done. Make the necessary changes to /etc/fstab and they wil lbe mounted as ext3 automatically. You can even mount the ext3 fs as ext2 quite painlessly. Sharukh. -- Dr. Sharukh K. R.
