Hi guys, One of my clients box managed to get listed on the MAPS RBL . Iam trying to find out how, from the information forwarded by VSNL and the one published at http://mail-abuse.org/cgi-bin/show_listing.cgi?378887.
The listing provided by RBL doesn't show the complete headers and i can't find any reference to my clients IP except the reference that domains such as v345o.my.tj, ns.qijlip2xrn.ph , x.y4h37z.te.ua etc (which appear in url's in the message body) resolve to my clients IP, but when i check it these domains dont even resolve. I have checked the clients server completely and there seems to be nothing in it which would have triggered this activities. Looking at the headers in the spam and the content makes me feel that my client was just a victim in this process cos anybody can point a domain name to my IP in their rogue DNS servers). Or most probably iam missing something.. Any suggestions and pointers on how to tackle this issues ?
