Assuming you are talking about a webserver only. Configure up2date and make sure you run it everyday. Stop all services other than keytable, atd, syslog, network, random, rawdevices, crond, anacron, ntpd and sshd. Compile from source apache, mod_ssl and whatever programming laguage specific modules you need and make sure you are on their mailling lists to be aware of any vulnerabilities.
