Sorry...what I wrote was wrong. As you might already know, resolution is set in /etc/X11/XF86config. As of now, I dont know how to achieve what you want.

A long time ago, I was playing with XF86config,.xinitrc, etc. I havent had the time to get back to LiUNX since. Hence the confusion.
