Hi Guys,

I came across this phenomenon while trying to troubleshoot a network
related issue this morning. Check this fragment of tcpdump output:

09:58:07.597747 arp who-has 196.12.38.196 tell 196.12.38.211
09:58:07.597778 arp reply 196.12.38.196 is-at 0:30:48:21:52:dd

Now, check ifconfig on 196.12.38.196 (output snipped):

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:48:21:52:DD
          inet addr:203.199.179.167 Bcast:203.199.179.191 Mask:255.255.255.224

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:80:C8:03:96:36
          inet addr:196.12.38.196 Bcast:196.12.38.223 Mask:255.255.255.224

My question: Why is it giving out the eth0 HW address for the ARP query
directed at eth1??

Additional details: The DNS name for this computer resolve to both IP
addresses, on the LAN. Maybe this has something to do with this problem.
