[LIH]Samba connection error-[OT]

Dear All
I`m new to this group and looking for the good support from you all.
I have installed samba 2.2.5 version on Redhat linux 8.
I`m not able to connect from linux client to samber server(insateed in RH8)but i could able to access from windows NT to samba server and shares are visible.
when i give the smbclient command from the linux client to connect to sambe server it displays the error as
TREE CONNECTION FAILED : NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
and at the same time i checked the /var/log/samba/%m.log file in the samba server,there i found the message posted as saying
SMB_PAM_ACCOUNT failed
SMB_PAM_ACCOUNTcheck failed
SMB_PAM_ACCOUNT failed and finally got the message as
smbpasswd database corrupted

let me know the possible solutions as earliest
