I am sick of this kind of idiotic advice on LIH. How is the antivirus going to help stop a scan on port 143??? To the OP: You might want to install a good firewall product in front of your IMAP server, and use a better imap product that uw-imapd. Also, RedHat 7.1 is pretty old, and is a ticking bomb. You might want to upgrade to RedHat 7.3 + Updates and Courier IMAP.
