I have installed RedHat Linux 8 on my machine yesterday. The
installation comes with OpenOffice.org office suite.
I installed only the Gnome Desktop environment (version 2.x) which ships
with the installation CDs.
While the installation process was the smoothest ever, OpenOffice does
not start up at all. If it does, it dies without a trace.
Cannot figure out what the reason is and would really appreciate urgent
help on this one.
Attempts to deinstall and reinstall OpenOffice have failed.
Since I have experienced application crashes/gnome crashes earlier I am
wondering if it is something to do with my hardware. But I have win98 on
another partition on the same machine on which I am able to run
OpenOffice.org 641 without any problem.
PLEASE HELP.
FEEDBACK: By the way, someone had a query regarding Clinton Goveas
sometime back on this list. Well, I got my RH8.0 CDs from them. There is
no problem with the CDs.
Regards
Pramathesh
