Try
su - euclid etc etc. Or ssh to euclid@localhost and run the
fetchmailrc.
Also fetchmail requires permissions of 0710 for .fetchmailrc I believe.
So you might not be able to do this.
Stick the users' fetchmailrcs in their own homedirs, or put the whole
lot into a single .fetchmailrc and use "user foo with password bar is
user foo here"
