[LIH]C my doubt

hi all,

Today ,I was working with C, I have the habit of going through the code in the Header file. I don't understand onething about them

* The header files contain just prototypes

Where does the actual code for performing an i/o , say using scanf() or printf() lie. As far as i have seen the header files dont contain this code (correct me if i am wrong).

I beleive this is not off - topic as i was going through some source files in Linux
