[LIH]Anand - Help needed regarding fsck

Hi...
I had a problem while booting. When checking the root file system....fsck was recommended.... When i used fsck / command i got the following error msg..
"Error reading block 196814(attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read)while doing inode scan "
Pls help me with this problem...
