Hello list friends,
I have somehow managed to get my HP Scanjet
2200C(USB) to work under xsane on Red Hat 8.0 . The backend name is
plustek:/dev/usb/scanner0. I am able to scan photos from the GIMP (with
xsane-plugin) and the output is also very good. BTW SANE does not list
this scanner as a supported HP Scanner.
My problem is that the preview canvas is ten times
bigger than the size of the Scanning Bed. The Bed size is letter(8.5in x
11.5in). But after every scan the output is (85in x 115in). The image
size is consequently ridiculously big at (100 MB) for every scan. At
present it takes a very long time to scan. After It does the scan I have
to scale the image to 1/10th of its original size before putting it to
any use. How do I set this canvas size to 8.5in x 11in ?
