Why would one need half a gig ram because of the _processor. It entirely
depends on what kind of applications one is running. Ofcourse if one can
get more RAM thats good ;) but you dont _have_ too.

But that aside, the config should rock. One of ours does, with the same
processor 128MB ram and 20 GB HDD. Different mobo though.

yeah, amd chips do have a tenedency to heat up, but XPs are better than
the thunderbirds in this respect.
