It is also possible to use the available plugin to be used. There will
be a plugin available in the
/<Installation path to JDK>/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/
or
/<Installation path to JDK>/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/

this is for JDK version 1.4

To install the plugin you can create a  link in the
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to the .so file in the above location
You will have to be administrator to do this

command

cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
ln -s libjavaplugin_oji140.so /<Installation path to
JDK>/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji140.so
