i have just installed redhat 8.0 on my laptop and the installation went off
smoothly.

using grub as bootloader on hda2 (typer primary and active) and dual boot
with win98. after reboot, it just hangs everytime.

last few lines before hanging
.
.
hda: IBM-DARA-206000, ATA DISK drive
hdc: UJDA150, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7, 0x3f6 on irq 14
ide1 at 0x170-0x177, 0x376 on irq 15
blk: queue c030004, I/O limit 4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)
blk: queue c030004, I/O limit 4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)

the last 2 lines are identical. my hdd is 6GB, partioned into 2 primary
(hda1-vfat ~ 4gb and hda2-ext3 ~ 1.3Gb - active) other than this there are
partions
vfat ~ 300Mb, linux swap ~ 66Mb, hibernation ~ 68Mb)

before installing redhat 8.0, versions 7.2 and 7.3 were running just fine on
the same laptop configuration.

please help with this (maybe i need to specify some boot parameters to the
kernel??).

thanks a lot.
manish
