hi,
i have two linux servers here - one mail server running debian woody
and the other dns server runing redhat. The problem is that though
both of the machines are connected to the same switch, the data
transfer speeds from them greatly differ. I have two huge files
(mandrake 90 ISOs) one of each of them and since two days i've been
trying to download them to another machine on the same network which
has a CDWriter. The data transfer speed from the redhat machine was around 10MB/Sec
and i was able to download the ISO very easily .. but the transfer
speed from the debian machine is around 15-18 KB/Sec. and so
according to gftp it'll take an estimated 10-11 hrs. to download the
ISO. y such a huge difference between machines on the same network.
I am using normal ftp for transferring the files
