Hi I installed Slack 8.1 (Single CD) in a P I 200 MHz 64 MB system. I wanted to configure a TVSE MSP 155 dot matrix printer in this . I went into /usr/share/apsfilter and gave ./SETUP. I took the 3rd option of gs drivers with binary support to install the drivers. I took sl no 126 which will install an epson compatible 9 pin dot matrix printer in the system.
After port (local Printer /dev/lp0), paper size (A4)and other such parameters configured, I asked a test page to be printed. It started to print page after page of junk. I changed drivers to other EPSON dot matrix printers, still no avail, it prints only junk I would like to mention that using printtool in RH Linux 6.2, 7.1, I have configured the same printer using EPSON dot matrix printer drivers and also in Windows 98 effortlessly as EPSON FX 105 printer. Now the struggle has lasted almost a week. What could be wrong?
