RK- this one has certainly helped for the moment. However, i did mean
"based on command" which is why i called it advanced. I had checked out
bash-completion before asking for help, but couldnt get it to work.
Perhaps I just need to try harder.

I specifically meant cases like: when doing javac, only a java file
should be completed, when doing java only the base portion should be
completed, when doing a "cd" only directories should be completed, when
doing a cat or less, only a text file etc.
