Solved C0nstant, The solutions are many but I think that no single solution (software) provides u the complete features u want. So u need to put things (softwares)together. One possible solution can be
1) Adobe Acrobat 5.0.
it gives u most of the things u want,
a. secured communication
b. authentication
c. secured access
d. powerful indexing of the documents
e. set permissions for the files (ro, rw, printable etc)
f. logging
g. etc (Check out there web site)
2) Second solution is what u are saying (to some extent)
u can use the setup which u are thinking. But it has problems for
example:
a. Ur sol is difficult to manage and administer
b. The users need special training on this sol
c. End Users will find this sol diff to use.
Adobe solution would be the best one. (check out other companies sol
which provide the similar solutions)
