No idea how a pine address book looks like but there comes a utility of Address 
Book import with KMail. Try that. It recognizes a dozens of formats..

Well the thing is you need kdenetwork package to get new addressbook and kmail. 
That needs latest kdelibs and kdebase. and RH6.2 is quite old. You have to 
upgrade tons of dependencies like libmng/libpng and not to mention Qt itself.

Upgrade to mandrake 9. That would take far less time and most importantly it 
would be more predictable than upgrading RPMs by hand.

If you like KDE, don't use RH.
