I have a machine with both RH 8.0 and Mandrake 9.0. I wanted to use the fonts
from Mandrake in RH. They are tamil language tscii encoded fonts. RH 8.0 also
has tamil language support. I have three users configured for three different
purposes. One is normal user with gnome, other gnome tamil user and kdeuser
in RH 8.0. I could get tamil ttf fonts installed and recognised in gnome. But
pcf fonts I copied from mandrake /usr/share/fonts/bitmap/tscii to RH
/usr/share/fonts/bitmap/tscii and did mkfontdir. I also added this path to
/etc/X11/fs/config in catalogue and did /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart. I
couldn't get these pcf bitmapped fonts for use.
Further in kde control center/look and feel/fonts, even ttf fonts are not
available. Any solutions?
