I have downloaded cygwin as well as putty and I have been trying to connect to the cvs server with both of them. With plink and WinCvs 1.2 I am getting a error "Unrecogonised response from serevr " and the sandclock stays there forever. I have been struglling with this for almost a day now. I am sure it dosent takes more than an hour or max a couple of hours to test these settings.
In Enter CVROOT field type :ssh:user@<CVSSERVER_or_its _IP>/path/to/CVSROOT
In Athentication field, select SSH Server.
Rest of the steps same as other cvs access methods.
Please note that you need to have CVS_RSH env variable pointing to SSH.
Go through SSH docs to make users access server without asking passwords and all that.
Followig doc might help:http://minimal.cx/wincvsssh.php
Cheers.
