I beg to differ.. I had 8.0 loaded on my laptop and it was exceedingly slow, if u wanted to do any sort of development work on it. It used to take ages to run and you had to sacrifice usability for speed. I had a celeron 900 laptop with 320mb Ram and 30g hdd.. ample swap space..
Loaded mandrake 9.0.. Runs like a dream.. fast too!! Really impressed.. Want to check out Woody now.. Might do the installs soon.. Let me see how it works By the way another question. Is it compulsory to register the mandrake version to use it I went to their page, but they are asking voluntary contributions. I mean i am not looking to freeload but i would like to know the legal status in using their version of linux As i understand it Debian (Woody) has no such issues..
