Sub : Single user mode booting under grub            LOST #266

To enter single user mode under grub, press "e" [edit] at the 
grub boot menu and edit the boot parameters  "kernel /vmlinuz 
root=/dev/hdN single" (where N = your root partition)... Then 
reboot using "b" [boot]... Easy ?
