Hi,
Is MP3 format not supported by XMMS ? I am not able to play music using
XMMS. I am able to select the song, but it not getting played. Is there any other MP3 player for RH Linux 8.

Redhat has stopped bundling mp3 support with XMMS because of copyright issues with the mp3 format.
You can always download and recompile XMMS with mp3 support enabled.
Or you can use grip to re-encode your files to OGG format and play them on XMMS, which supports OGG-Vorbis
