Try this.

for testing local mail , DOWNLOAD WEBMIN.

it is also good initially to configure sendmail with WEBMIN.

U MAY USE THIS SENDMAIL M4 CONFIG FILE.

Initially I used the same one.

Subject: [LIH]configuring sendmail
Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 03:08:19 -0800 (PST)

Hi,
I'm just learning how to configure 'sendmail'. I need
to add a message filtering code to sendmail. I learned
that i can execute shell commands through the sendmail
configuration file. What i could not figure out was
how MUAs like pine connect to sendmail. I tried
running sendmail as a background process and then
sending a mail using pine in a local machine. Though
sendmail was configured to check mqueue only every one
minute, i did not see anything in mqueue. As soon as i
send the mail using pine, the mail was delivered.I
need help on this. And i hope i'm proceeding in the
right direction. And it would be helpful if someone
could tell me the best link to learn about the m4
macroprocessor.
