Sourceforge has Marc Merlin (who developed sa-exim - the spamassasin / exim 
combo that's just been integrated into debian apparently) as their admin.

Marc's got all sorts of weird callback rulesets (which connect back to your 
mailserver to find out if you exist, and if the domain has a valid 
postmaster account, etc) that are invoked before mail is accepted.

Maybe one of those routines is fubar or something.

Best way is to ask SF, maybe?
