I'd have advised your to leave your server well alone if it were working fine, but now that you want to add additional functionality, don't you notice that qmail is not exactly the best option? Move the entire system to Courier (http://www.courier-mta.org). Its compatible to qmail, can interface with spamassassin, and includes its own filtering language (maildrop).
