Well it depends on how you look at it. The power consumption is not a big criteria in industrial application. And with availabilty of good batteries this should not pose any problem. We are already in this line and designing a good power supply should not be problem. BTW I have aleardy ordered 5 nos of MC68EZ328 and started working on this.
