hi,
I am using debian 3.0r1 woody on a Compaq Evo D510 machine. It has a compaq
USB keyboard, mouse and an LCD monitor.
With the debian default 2.4 kernel, most of the times keyboard is not
responding. When I press the power button, some USB related messages come on
the screen and the keyboard starts working.

In this system, X windows is also not working. So I compiled 2.4.20 and
2.4.21 kernel with most options and relavant USB options to make X windows
system and keyboard to work. But unfortunately my keyboard is not at all
responding with this new kernel even in the console.

Could someone guide me how to make my USB keyboard to work. (the basic thing
without which I can not proceed furthur :) ).
Do I need to apply any patch to the kernel source to make the USB keyboard
to work.

thanks
