Hi,
How does everyone on the list favor a WIKI style, "updatable by all" website. Ala - http://www.sown.org.uk
As an advantage, it would help share the content burden throughout the list.
As a disadvantage, it possibly could spin out of control due to indiscipline.
my 20 paise.

Hi all,
Before starting off, let me bounce some of my thoughts about the web site.
1. Standards complaint: The Linux-india.org site should comply with all relevant web standards, i am looking at XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS2.
The only problem here is to get a cool style sheet, once a style sheet is in place, maintainence also becomes easy. But the difficult part is to get a proper CSS. Take a look at http://www.oswd.org/viewdesign.phtml?id=1165&referer=/ for one such example we can use.
2. Should be author independent. No one can maintain a website for eternity. So we must plan our updation process such that even if one volunteer is busy, next one can take his/her position seamlessly.
Which means we have to place the website in a CVS, and all updations should be done using that.
I am also looking for ideas about the content and layout of the linux-india.org
Your comments please,
raj
