I am using RH7.3 on a P4 machine that acts as server to my network. I
have also used apcupsd package to auto-shut down the machine in case of
power failure. This is working and if the server is shut off due to
extended power failure it restarts when the power comes back
automatically.

Now I have used crontab to shutdown the server on Saturday evening after
office hours (so that I do not wait for all users to log off before
doing shut and going out for my saturday pub prowl ;-).

After shutdown the machine comes to a situation where the monitor says
"Power Down". This steps is to be done manually otherwise effectively
the server remains "on" in this state till Monday morning.

I need to find steps to any of the two alternatives:
1: The machine actually does a power off and not just stay at the
position where it asks for power off manually. How?
2: The shutdown and power off is forced through apcupsd. How?

In the second case it could be also possible to give a automatic (timed)
restart on Monday morning through UPS.

Any one who can point me in right direction??

TIA

ps: Also anyone can guide me on how to keep track automatically if any
user is logged in. Now I am doing timed down on Saturday but would be
better to do shutdown after, say, ten minutes of last user logging off.
