Worst things to do when you use RPM and have no fat Internet pipes! Most of those who know more than the average learnt this way ... I tried things like above many a times, breaking things, but with the assuring thought in mind that I have access to always-on internet at college ... Boot into init leve 3. Run startkde/startx from console, note the error messages, and try fixing them by getting the required libraries/packages and installing. If you want to use it as it is, change default desktop environment to something which works (gnome/windowmaker etc.), and your RH will boot into X again.
