Thank you Sridhar for offering  solution. AFAIK, one need epstoedit to
convert eps to  fig format. But, yes that is  one solution. However, I
got what I wanted. Here is direct editing in eps file:

|    gsave 696 2869 translate 30 rotate
|    0 0 M
|    [[(Helvetica) 100 0 true true (Some text here)]] -33.3 MCshow
|    grestore

The solution was suggested by Odysseus on comp.lang.postscript

Sub : Contents of .deb file [#1]                     LOST #044

To know the contents of a deb file, if you have dpkg installed
fire  Midnight Commander (mc) ... Just press enter on the .deb
file in mc and you have all the  contents of the .deb file ...
Then  you can copy all the  stuff  from one pane to another in
some directory. Same thing applies to .tar.gz and rpm files ..
provided rpm, tar and gzip are installed.
