Ah...
You have got to tell mozilla to use the
java plugin from the JRE stuff you downloaded.

That amounts to:
  o Find out where the JRE stuff is installed
  o Check if there is a ".so" file for netscape
    (Don't worry, its the same)
    Use the latest version.
  o Learn about symbolic links
  o Check where mozilla stores its plugins
  o Create a symbolic link for the JRE ns plugin
    in the mozilla plugins directory.

Post back, or better still, search the list archives,
as what you want, has already been answered before.

ps. Remember to restart the mozilla browser, so that
    it loads the JRE plugin. And you can check with
    Help -> About Plug-ins
