Hi!

  just few things you may need  to check out.

On LAN mail server
cat /etc/mail/access , make sure your laptop is in with in that network
which is allowed to send the mails.

In the sendmail of laptop you need to use smart relay host of the LAN SMTP
server's address.

# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DSyourlan-SMTP-address
