DO NOT add or remove any partisions In installation you can select which partion should not be formated. Take care not to format /home where your data is normally located. This I had done using diskdruid . I don't know about fdisk procedure.
DO NOT use any automated installer scripts like PCQ RH8 etc which in automated mode may format all partions.
