Hi, I have sendmail-8.11.x on a redhat ES2.1 server I have read the docs. We have our mail server somewhere else and I have addeded the linux box ip address and name in the hosts file
When I send an email from my machine for the linux box, I get a mailer daemon stating Unknown host : < linux box fqdn > I just need the box to receive the mail for itself. How can I get this ? What configuration changes should I make ? ALso I have addede the machine name in the access file , is that needed ? Is there an command to check whether teh system is accepting mails for itself ? Once I am sure of the configuration I can tell the person on the other side where the email server is located to check the firewall and other settings there. Please help.
