A medium-sized company based out of Bangalore (with offices in Mysore, Dehradun and the US) is looking for a Linux/Windows System Administrator.
Job Description --------------- Remotely administer a set of Windows 2000 and Linux (RH) servers used for web-based applications.
Duties ------ Administer Windows 2000 and Linux machines. Create and maintain users. Test and apply service packs and patches to the OS and key application servers. Document changes made to system clearly. Be informed about latest vulnerabilities and protection.
Education --------- A bachelors degree or equivalent.
Required -------- + >2 years experience administering Windows and Linux servers. + Knowledge of the latest patches and service packs. + Experience administering ColdFusion on Windows and Linux. + MySQL and MS SQL administration. + Experience administering Apache and IIS servers. + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Proven analytical skills.
Nice to have ------------ + Proficiency in writing administrative perl/shell/batch file scripts. + Windows terminal server. + CVS (p)server administration.
