Dear members,
First of all, Happy Diwali to all of you.
I am facing the problem of traffic from my client m/cs as per our ISP saying.
Actually, I am using a FTDMA VSAT and RH Linux 7.3 for Server. From last
one week I facing the problem of terrific traffic which finally awakes the
buffer control of the VSAT and it gets d-linked and all activities
stopped.
Our ISP says - the client machines from our local LAN are sending viruses
which results this traffic but he is not able to tell which virus and what
type.
When I stop Squid and monitoring mail queue I am finding no traffic at all
in our server. I do not know from where the traffic is generating other
then these. I have more than 150 computers in our LAN so it is very
difficult for me to check from which computer the traffic is being
generated. I am in the process of checking all the compuetrs for viruses
as well.Please suggest me:
1) How can I monitor the traffic on my server generated from a particular
client machine ?2) How I can restrict the users through Squid for browsing the
Internet?
3) How I can get the log of sites accessed from a particular client ?

When I d-linked my LAN then everything works on the Server as well on 2 or
3 client machines but after giving connection to my complete LAN
everything stops. I am using DHCP for distributing local IPs to client
m/cs. PLEASE NOTE THIS PROBLEM IS FROM LAST ONE WEEK ONLY BEFORE THIS
EVERYTHING WAS ALRIGHT. I have not made any changes at server level.regards,
Karan Singh
